Branding & Digital Launch Campaign: OpenRun Hackathon

Role:
Design Director - creative direction for the rebrand, motion, creative strategy and social execution.

The Brief:
Name and brand a new hackathon targeting developers, with the goal of building a community from scratch. Define the creative strategy for the launch across digital and social, with a target of 1,000 registrations for the first event.

The Result:
A retro ASCII brand style built to expand into a live system, with full guidelines spanning web, social, motion and merch. We worked hard to understand our audience and the community is thriving as a result. We exceeded the client's targets significantly; 50% more sign-ups than their goal, 293k organic impressions on social, and a launch video that reached 1.12m views.
